Content is great, quality is not...

I love the Bible, but I do not like the cover. It is like a heavy printed card paper. As a study Bible (which is why I purchased) it will not hold up. I was expecting a heavier cover. I can see this cover getting ruined pretty quickly if I choose to carry it, outside of the slip cover. This needs to be improved.

    The Augustine Bible
    Jan 13th 2020

This Bible is nicely formatted and printed; however it is bereft of the helpful explanatory notes one finds in the popular post Vatican II editions of the Bible, such as: The New American Bible, St. Joseph Edition and The Revised Standard Version, 2nd Catholic edition. Also I have faulty vision, so the type size in which it is set is a bit problematical --the verse numbers and the translation notes at the bottom of the pages are far too small. Nevertheless, the textual changes that I encountered throughout this work are quite helpful. I especially enjoyed reading the Psalms, they are just so beautiful and filled with magnificent imagery. Am I sorry I bought this Bible? No! I will read it from time to time, and I am pleased to add it to my reference collection of books Catholic, well researched, and worthy of respectful ownership. Additionally, lest I forget, the forward to the Augustine Bible is masterfully written and has excellent information that serious biblical scholars will appreciate.
