Much of what we know of Saint Michael, we know from Scripture: "Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. The dragon and its angels fought back." (Revelation 12:7) An important figure in Church history, Michael was beloved by the Jewish faithful long before the days of Christ. Today, he is chief protector of the Christian faith. For his strength, courage and mission to protect, Michael is the patron saint of the military and police officers.
