Details
Born in 1922, Gianna Beretta Molla was an Italian pediatrician, wife and mother who worked hard to keep life balanced. She understood the rigors of work and family and believed that taking time for prayer was essential. This inspired her faith, a faith she leaned on when she opted to undergo surgery that could save her unborn baby while putting her own life at risk. The baby, Gianna’s fourth, was delivered safely in 1962, but Gianna died one week later from complications.
